Hi!
I want to come in Ahvenisto from Russia on my sports car with roll cage.
Is it allowed to cross the border between Russia and Finland on the car with roll cage? And can I drive on this car in Finland?

According to my understanding there is no law that would prohibit driving a rollcaged car on finnish roads as long as it is road legal in russia! since you can also make cars with roll cage road legal in finland so i dont see why it wouldnt be possible!

Just remember that you car must be registered in russia for road use and then the finnish cant say a word!

My car was road legal in Russia, but i didn't make а mention about roll cage in car documents. Its ok in Russia, but I don't know if finnish police wouldn't like this in Finland.

I think if you get pulled over, you'll probably get off by explaining why you are here and why the car has a roll cage. You're practically just moving from point A to point Ahvenisto and back to point A, so I think they don't have the time nor the interest to make it a big deal because of that.

I have to agree with ossi on this one but like i said the rollcage is legal in finland too so it should not be a problem!

to be honest i´m not sure since i have seen similar things on peoples yards in finland but never in traffic! that needs to be checked somewhere! if i have time ill check it later on!

Yes, that is a legitimate Finland personally have had similar device before the actual trailer acquisition

but Finland maximum road speed towing is merely 60kmh because it is towed device and so it is not trailer what may tow 80kmh

I've heard a nickname "dolly" for those.

Besides the speed limit the car being towed must have valid licence plates on it. This makes a difference for pure track/racing cars that are not registered. Transporting them on a trailer is fully legal (of course).
