Hello to everyone,

I seems to be the only one person posting in this thread (I mean starting new topics)

I have one question regarding the TAXes for having a car in Finland. The reason why I'm asking this is they are going crazy with TAXes here in Russia, without any explicit reason they are going to raise the TAXes twice. As far as I know you pay the TAXes before you use the car (prior), and can you please advice, how much of TAX can a person pay in Finland for the car like mine, for example:
Subaru Impreza WRX STI, 1994 cc, 280 bhp, 4WD, Issue date is november, 2004 year, right hand steering wheel. I don't know if you need any more information.
It's not that I want to move the car to Finland, I just want to compare two VERY different countries.

Now they are going crazy at all.... They're going to raise the taxes in my city on three times for the vehicles which Horse Power is more than 250 bhp... I would be more than happy to pay the tax which they were going to raise twice, if we have at least 10% quality of the roads compared to yours... But the triple tax with the current _quality...  - is nonsence.

It's still very interesting to hear how much do you pay for the cars in Finland

We pay a lot! To own a car in Finnish plates, you must pay the car tax first, and of course annual tax is added too. Car taxes varies with car model Last moths database shows

Impreza WRX STI (obviously) from year 2000 was imported to Finland and taxed with 3090€. That is the car tax. Annual taxes are related to emissions and I have no idea of those nowadays. I guess one can find tables from customs web site. It's partly in russia btw...

It's not cheap to live in here. We have a lot of social benefits that needs tax incomes to support them.

thank you for this information. We also have wild "car taxes" - If you wany to buy a Subaru (WRX STI) from Japan and have it in Russia the car tax is about 5500 EUR... I was just wondering about annual tax (I'll try to find out on the website you gave).

Hello

For the Subaru I used in Timeattack (european wrx sti 2003) annual taxes in Finland have been 127,75 euro. Next year it will be different since Finland is changing the annual taxing to co2 based. Estimate for next year is 270,83 euro, that is with 265g/km co2 emissions.
